SONEXA

Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Sonexa app (“Sonexa”, “the app”, “we”) handles information. Sonexa is published by Infrared Private Limited (“Infrared”), Sri Lanka.

The short version Sonexa is a music player for a server that you run. It plays the music in your own library, from your own music server, on your own network. Sonexa does not create accounts, does not show ads, and does not collect, track, or transmit your personal data to Infrared or to any third party.

1. What Sonexa does

Sonexa connects to a self-hosted music server that you or your organisation operate — an Infrared Music Server (or a compatible Lyrion / Logitech Media Server). It lets you browse and play the music files stored on that server. Sonexa is a client only; it does not provide, stream, or sell any music catalogue of its own.

2. Information the app stores

To function, Sonexa stores a small amount of configuration locally on your device only:

This information stays on your device. It is not sent to Infrared and is not shared with any third party. Removing the app removes this information from your device.

3. Information we do not collect

4. Network connections

Sonexa communicates only with the music server address that you enter in the app. It does this to list your library, load cover art, and stream audio for playback. Because the servers people run are typically on private or self-hosted addresses, these connections may be over standard HTTP within your own network or infrastructure. Sonexa does not send your data to any other destination.

5. System integrations

Sonexa integrates with standard Apple features so you can control playback:

These integrations are used solely to control playback of your own library. They do not transmit personal data to Infrared.

6. Children’s privacy

Sonexa is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

7. Data security

Configuration and any optional credentials are stored using the device’s standard secure storage (Keychain and app storage). You are responsible for securing the music server you choose to connect to.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and post the new version at this address.
